The 12th season is due to start shortly, with the 2021 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series teams and prizes announced. We’re currently in the middle of the five day period for the 40 qualifying drivers to sign with teams for the series, which ends on Monday, January 11th, 2021.
The virtual motorsport series is worth noting as it will be the second supported by the soft drinks manufacturer as the title sponsor, and the prize fund has now increased to a total of $330,000, with the driver champion getting $100,000.
And there are four new teams for this season with McLaren Esports and Elliott Sadler Esports bridging the gap between real and sim racing, and two leading pure eSports teams with Spacestation Gaming and XSET.
They’ll be up against established eSports teams run by NASCAR names including Clint Bowyer, Denny Hamlin, Joe Gibbs and William Byron, and another squad with lines to F1, with Williams Esports.
