Appearing as standalone DLC last week, today has seen rFactor 2 hotfixes released for the Ferrari 488 GT3 and the previous GTE version which appeared in May 2020.
Available for £4.55 via Steam, the Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 replicates a car developed over the winter of 2019 to be even more successful in GT racing than the previous versions.
So it’s likely to have similar success in virtual motorsport. But with any new car, whether it’s real or digital, there are always a few niggles to sort out when it first hits the track for proper competition. Which is why there’s a much smaller list of tweaks to the GTE model, just for the wiper animation on triple screens and ambient occlusion in the cockpit.
For those of us who don’t work in 3D graphics and modelling, ambient occlusion is a shading and rendering technique to decide how objects are exposed to light, and how they create shadows as a result.
