The mix of top-down racing, realistic handling and lovely art style is all shown in the new Art of Rally gameplay trailer. And apparently the game is getting closer to completion and release, which is good news.
It’s been developed by Dune Casu as FunSelektor labs, and he’s been working on Art of Rally for a while, including attending rally schools and driving classic cars to try and capture what the experience is really like from an overhead perspective.
Along with a new logo for the company, Dune has also revealed he’s brought in some extra help to finish Art of Rally, including a producer, developers and a community manager.
Apparently there will be more announcements soon, and “it shouldn’t be too long before it’s in your hands on PC”.
A demo version of the game has been released previously on Gamejolt. And having spent quite a while trying to master the two cars and course included, we can confirm the game is challenging and a lot of fun.
The full release should include a career mode covering the golden years of rally with 50+ iconic cars from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, Group B, Group S and Group A, along with 60 rally stages in Finland, Sardinia, Norway, Japan and Germany.
And the more serious and realistic side of the game includes repairing damage between stages, and leaderboard challenges on a daily and weekly basis.
No price has been set yet, but Art of Rally will be available for the PC via Steam, and it’s also coming to GoG, so you can choose your preferred source of digital downloads.
