It’s been a good time to pick up racing games if you’re an Xbox One owner. TT Isle of Man was free in February, Project CARS 2 was available for nothing in April, V-Rally 4 was included for May, and now the July 2020 Xbox Games With Gold includes WRC 8.
The official game of the 2019 World Rally Championship, WRC 8 was originally released for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One in September 2019, and for the Nintendo Switch in October.
Developed by Kylotonn and published by Nacon (formerly BigBen Interactive), WRC 8: World Rally Championship included a redesigned career mode, dynamic weather, classic cars, and a total of 102 stages across 14 countries.
If you enjoyed V-Rally 4 as a free download, then you should enjoy WRC 8, as both were develoepd by Kylotonn, who started on the World Rally Championship series back in 2015 with WRC 5, alonside developing the TT Isle of Man series, and working on the upcoming Test Drive Unlimited 3.
And it’s handy to download for free on the Xbox One if you want to start practising for the release of WRC 9 in September 2020. Especially if you’re excited for the new title by the details emerging from Kylotonn, including some of the classic cars included in the full WRC 9 car list.
You’ll be able to download WRC 8: FIA World Rally Championship free via Xbox Games With Gold from July 1-31st, 2020. The other games available during the month are Dunk Lords, Saints Row 2 and Juju.
WRC 8 would typically cost you £49.99 through the Microsoft Store. But you can order the WRC 8 Deluxe Edition for the next 3 days for £14.99.
Non-Xbox owners can find WRC 8 for the PC on the Epic Store (and it’s coming to Steam in September 2020). Or on the PlayStation Store and Nintendo eShop. You can find physical copies of the Nintendo edition at Game, but the cheapest option aside from Games with Gold is buying a copy for any format via Amazon.
