There will now be six new cars appearing next month, with the BMW M4 GT4 coming to iRacing in June 2020. We’d almost forgotten about it being teased back in January with the recent announcements of the 1987 NASCAR cars, the Ford F-150, and the open wheel duo of the Indy Pro 2000 and US F2000.

It means that there will now be two GT4 choices for iRacing competitors, as the Porsche 718 Cayman Clubsport MR has been the sole example in the sim racing service since March. So it’ll add some welcome choice and variation in the iRacing IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, and also appear in series including the BMW 12.0 after release during Week 13 of iRacing 2020 Season 2.

It should be sporty, responsive and a popular choice of GT4 weapon, given the popularity of the BMW 12.0 series, and GT3/GT4/TCR multiclass racing.
Not to mention the 431hp+ available from the M TwinPower Turbo 3 litre straight six engine, which has helped it to 33 class victories, almost 100 podiums and titles in British GT, the Blackpain World Challenge Asia, VLN and ADAC GT4 Germany amongst others.

It might also provide an easier step up for Audi TCR drivers than jumping into the Cayman or the BMW M8 GTE, for example.
And it’s great that there’s a new car for those who focus on European road racing, given the other additions are all very much American, and mainly oval, focused.

So it’s a big month coming for iRacing with the various shake-ups in a host of series being triggered by a big collection of new cars. Which makes for an exciting (and potentially expensive) time for racers on the competitive virtual motorsport service. Additional cars are typically priced at $11.95 each (although you can get discounts for buying in bulk, or if you own 20% or 40% of the available content)
Which makes it a good time to sign up now, to start working through the license classes and gaining access to the new cars. You can sign up for iRacing, here, and save 50% on a new membership, and more by choosing a longer membr period.
And you can keep up with all the latest iRacing cars, tracks, news, and more, here. Or just see everything currently available in our iRacing car list and iRacing track list.
