There are plenty of new cars coming to iRacing this summer. We already knew the Indy Pro 2000 and US F2000 open wheel racers were coming for iRacing 2020 Season 3. Plus the retro Winston Cup cars. And now iRacing adds the NASCAR Trucks Ford F-150 in June.
The iRacing NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series will expand to three choices, with the Ford F-150 joining the current Toyta Tundra and Chevrolet Silverado.
It means the complete field of manufacturers is represented in iRacing for the first time. Ford drivers in the real world series include Ben Rhodes, Grant Enfinger, Matt Crafton, Johnny Sauter, Todd Gilliland and Tanner Gray.
And with the series paused after two rounds due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Blue Oval has both Johnny Sauter second in the standings, and Ben Rhosers in third. Grant Enfinger also took victory at Daytona International Speedway.
So as iRacing adds the NASCAR Trucks Ford F-150 in June, it’s good news for both fans of the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series, and the Ford brand.
And it’s good for iRacing overall to be getting so much new content, with two open wheel cars, two vintage 1987 NASCAR cars (to go with the new NASCAR Legends series and the release of North Wilkeboro Speedway), and the Ford truck. Although it does mean you might need to spend some money – there’s no confirmation on the costs of any of the new cars, but expect them to be around $14.95 each.
You can keep up with all the latest iRacing news, content and eSports, here. And as always, we’ll keep updating our iRacing car list, and iRacing track list, so you know exactly what you can find in the game.
