There are more places to leave the wreckage of your car as the free February Wreckfest update adds 2 new tracks. It also brings new car balancing, updates and improvements to the gameplay in particular.
The exact changes vary slightly between PC and console versions of the game as some fixes as they appeared in the previous PC hotfix. But everyone can race on the new new circuits with Thunderbowl and Tribend Speedway both available across all platforms.
Tribend Speedway is a race circuit originally created by well-known Wreckfest modder Theveryend. It includes both a high speed layout and an alternative route which adds ramps and other obstacles for more of a crash-strewn survival challenge.
The other new track added to the game is a demolition derby arena named Thunderbowl. You start at either end of the bowl to create carnage in the middle area.
So both new locations should be welcome additions, as new tracks in Wreckfest are always fun. Particularly when other racers are still mastering the layouts.
The update also brings a range of tweaks for both the PC and console versions, including multiplayer voice chat for the PS4 edition. Bigger changes for all platforms include putting all cars into first gear during the race countdown, and using faster shirt profiles for an automatic clutch, which means automatic, manual and manual clutch users will be more equal in future.
And car balancing has also been looked at with fixes for the Boomer RS and Venum, improvements to the Hornet and Rebelrat, and a balancing nerf for the Raiden RS. You can catch up with all the standard and DLC vehicles available in our complete Wreckfest car list.
