Project CARS 2 is racing to be released before the end of 2017. In the meantime, more and more details are appearing. Including this Project CARS 2 Rallycross reveal trailer. It features the modern machines taking on the mix of dirt, snow, ice and Tarmac, including the Honda Civic Coupe, Volkswagen Polo RX, Ford Focus RS RX, the Mini Countryman RX and retro Rallycross stars including the classic Ford Escort RS 1600.
It’s good to see an older car being given a Rallycross outing. But we can only hope to see the glory days of British rallycross represented by the cars which migrated after the end of Group B rallying. It’s be great to see some Metro 6R4s, Ford RS200s, Audi Quattros and Lancia Delta Integrales competing, amongst others.

Either way, Project CARS 2 is looking good. There are apparently a number of improvements to car handling, and graphically it looks pretty decent. And it’ll have to. On the Xbox, it’ll face the next iteration of Forza Motorsport, but the bigger challenge is likely to be the arrival of GT Sport from Gran Turismo creators Polyphony Digital.
The original Project CARs remains popular, and was recently boosted by being a free Xbox Live Gold game. If you missed out, or want to pick it up on PS4 or PC, check out the links below to support ORD in the process. Project CARS 2 is also available to pre-order already from Amazon (links below).
