The Mazda MX-5 is a popular mainstay of both virtual and real world racing. Since first being introduced in 1989, the rear-wheel drive sports car continues to be used in a variety of one-make and grassroots motorsport, including the entry-level rookie events in iRacing. And the MX-5 (Miata in the US) is also unusual in iRacing in being offered as both a left hand drive (MX-5) and right hand drive (Roadster) version.
So it’s big news that the 2016 Global Mazda MX-5 Cup Car will be coming soon to iRacing, to replace the current MX-5 in the iRacing Mazda MX-5 Cup series, which is open to drivers from Rookies upwards. So as a rookie car it should be available free to every subscriber…
You can sign up to iRacing, here (and credit your referral to ORD, which we’d appreciate!). And see all the free, and the paid, vehicles available in our full official iRacing car list, here, or check out all of the included circuits, and the others you can buy, in our full official iRacing track list, here.
