Since then, ‘Final Build’ status has been reached and an early May release for Project CARS has been confirmed.

A driving journey…
Alongside the release for Project CARS, Slightly Mad has released this ‘Career’ trailer to tempt those racing taste buds.
Rendered in 1080p resolution and rolling along at a smooth 60fps, the latest video demonstrates some of the variety available in the game – for cars, tracks and a racing career.
Career – the choices are yours…
Will you jump straight into the Prototype class, make a bee-line for the GTs, run for the single-seaters or begin at the bottom of the long racing ladder – in karts?
Unlike such ‘tent-pole’ creations as the Forza and Gran Turismo series, Project CARS is free of The Grind. All cars and tracks are available from the first instant that a player profile is made.
As a driver, the decisions are yours from there.
Configure the location, the time of day and weather conditions in a solo practice session, set up a full weekend, head straight to a quick race or take the founding step to a racing career. Karts, Road, Protoype, Open-Wheel, track, point-to-point, night, day, rain or shine, race on-line – it’s all up to you.
Buying…
As shown above with the release dates, this simulation game will be available in disc and digital forms, with the first releases going to PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. The Digital editions will be sold via each platform’s respective service – PlayStation Store, Steam and Xbox Live.
At this time, Xbox Live doesn’t include a price on its Project CARS page. However, prices are available for Steam and PlayStation 4 versions.
Sony currently offers what it calls Project CARS – Pre-Order Edition on its UK PlayStation Store page. The pre-release price is £44.99 and the early purchase includes the Modified Car Pack added to all purchases made before the game is out.
We first detailed the Modified Car Pack last year in an entry covering the Limited Edition box set.
The additional Modified collection features the Ariel Atom 3 Mugen, Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster and a Project CARS-only customised Ruf CTR3 (the SMS-R).
Further information on SteamOS and Wii U versions will follow later in the year.
To round off this update, here’s the best prices available from major retailers as this text goes to press. Pre-release prices have generally found stability since the last refresh. Two notable changes are that Game’s PC price has dropped by £5.00 to £24.99 and stock has returned for the PS4 Limited Edition box.

On the digital side, we can now add Green Man Gaming to the retailer list. Better yet, there’s currently a 20% discount code available. Green Man’s standard full price is £39.99, so an ‘early buyer’ offer of approximately £32 looks good next to other listings.
Project CARS Digital Pre-Orders

Green Man Gaming | £39.99 |
Should Green Man Gaming be preferable, follow the link in the table above and click the pop-up on GMG’s Project CARS page to generate the 20% discount code.
Once again, this PC Digital Edition includes the DLC cars of the Limited Edition and the pre-release Modified Car Pack.
As described during the close of our Alpine A450 update, the Lykan HyperSport that film-goers will now know from the Fast & Furious 7 will reach all formats as a free car update after Project CARS is released. Equally cost-less, monthly additions will follow thereafter.
