RaceRoom: Bathurst Weekend and Falken Tyre Event

R8 at the Mount

Beginning with the short-term offer, SimBin’s free-to-play RaceRoom Racing Experience game has enabled weekend-long free access to a racing edition of Audi’s impressive R8.

Aligned with the Bathurst Mount Panorama 12-hour event that concluded earlier today, SimBin is temporarily allowing players of RRRE to sample Audi’s R8 LMS Ultra until Monday morning. Usually 299 of RaceRoom’s vRP (Virtual Race Points) – or a shade under £3.00 when the minimum number of 500 credits is bought – the R8 LMS Ultra will be drivable at no cost for all account holders during this period. In case testing might lead to a car purchase for use beyond this weekend, it’s worth noting that four liveries are also available for between 29 and 99 vRP each. Bathurst costs 549 vRP.

The open Mount Panorama Circuit weekend with the R8 runs until 8AM UK time tomorrow (9AM CET, 10^th February). As with other competitions, all three play modes can be used. That is, Novice, Amateur and Get Real sessions are possible.

Falken Tyre Challenge

Host to a swathe of national and international races that include the country’s own DTM series, Formula One and the Superbike World Championship, Germany’s Nürburgring racing complex is playing host to the Falken Tyre Competition via a Falken-liveried RUF RT12R. There are two weeks left for this 42-day challenge, with it closing at 2PM GMT (3PM CET) on Monday, 24^th of February.

Each of the three driving modes is again available and of the two car and track combinations covered today, I found the RUF RT12R on the Grand Prix course to be the most interesting and controllable (still some wheel tweaking to do, no doubt).

Winning!

The Falken Tyre event is an actual competition that includes prizes for EU residents. There are two parts to the competition in a prize-giving sense. Participation through the Novice, Amateur or Get Real levels enables entry into the Grand Prize draw – a random prize-winner selection from the entire set of submitted lap times.

Part 1: Grand Prize Draw

Part 2: Get Real Event

The second Falken Tyre stage is the Get Real category. There are 6 prizes included and they will be given based on the final lap time rankings – fastest to slowest.

From 1^st to 6^th place, the prize list unfolds thusly:

• 1 set of Falken tyres
• Large fan package
• Large Falken canvas print
• 2013 Falken Porsche model car
• 1 ticket for the ADAC 24h Race at Nürburgring
• 24-hour Nürburgring Nordschleife 2013 book

Do note that it is only by completing a clean lap in the Get Real mode that a time will be submitted as an entry to the wider prize collection of the competition.

A further Falken bonus

Should you already own or purchase the RUF RT12R before the Falken competition closes, you will receive the Falken Tyres livery that has been decorating the RT12R during this challenge period. The RT12R sells for 299 vRP and the standard 29 – 99 vRP per style for further decal designs.
